Ace? If you haven't already heard, take care.
Signing off. The dimension's currently in a flux state. |

What happened to everyone? It almost feels like there's some huge time difference between the dimensions. Or maybe it's that I'm losing track of the real world and starting to forget. I...hope not.
I'm staying at the junkyard with Random; it's one of the more intact areas. He's mostly been in a good mood so far. |

Fuck.
So easy to whine that I'll never be able to win with certain people. Easy to complain about getting blasted to this dimension again, after something I'd define as a betrayal. I don't have the luxury to do that.
I can catch up to Ace, if I can find him, and...well. It seems Kilobyte's come out from hiding.
Cue a fight, then. |

More of the Master Programmer's meddlings? Kilobyte leaving the shadows? I'm not sure I can think of any positive explanations.
Ace, if you're reading this, I'd appreciate it if you told me you were still alive. |

I don't know what the Master Programmer did to produce the clip. And I don't know why Random Virus is backing it up.
But I know that I did not help Kilobyte, and someone is lying.
It matters less, though, that I'm believed, than we get Ace out of there. As soon as possible.
And once that's done, we can work out who's lying, and who's not. |

Of my attack? I think I've already come to regret it. Not the reasoning. The timing, and the results. I should have waited, or chosen a more opportune moment. Or asked for...backup.
Ace? If you can get back to me, please do so. |

| | determined | ] | Chuck found no sign of program malfunction. I do not like the possible conclusions to that.
I could, I suppose, go to the Master Programmer, but the results to that would likely be worse than any hallucination.
I should not have waited, perhaps, but it is an uncomfortable thing to know that one's destiny is effectively in the hands of those humans with the skill to manipulate programming. And I thought I could deal with whatever was happening. I still do. The intangible cannot do harm, and the tangible can be harmed.
On a more positive note, Lancaster's climate is rather pleasant this time of year, and the amusement park is pleasurably different to the Carnival of Doom. |

It's basic logic. If hallucination, it's harmless, and there are chat logs to prove it. I changed, therefore so could he. If not, I'm capable of fighting. Either way? Reasonable outcome.
Symptom log: brief visual hallucinations, similar in nature. I doubt I'm controlled, by the mere virtue of questioning this concept. Power levels, normal.
Clearly, no reason for me to get hysterical. But...I would like to know if my actions turn more insane. |

It wasn't an optical illusion. I should know. He was there, out of thin air and then gone again.
It is in no way pleasant to have old enemies appearing out of shower walls.

Felicity Fury's reference from a stint at 'Deep Harmonies'--it's been months now since she left--should be somewhat useful, as should an updated and rather fictionalised resume.
Auras, star signs, organic food and crystal power. I should perhaps revise the jargon before inquiring if there is still an assistant's job open at the store, and search other openings. (Anything not involving laundry or cooking would work...) |

| | optimistic | ] | To sink into cliche, it's good to be back. Not just you, Ace, but a real world that isn't falling to pieces. Felicity Fury should probably get a job, as this world is the one necessary to deal with. I wonder if they still need workers at that crystal place?
A few hours' waiting in the street, three pieces of the amulet, a Knight uniform, and the human's programming skills, and I'm home. (At the Thunder Tower, rather.)
It's been rather quiet since Kilobyte attempted to attack, which is...wonderful. I can't remember having this much spare time before, without being concerned about battle or discovery...
Sparx isn't back yet, and Ace is getting worried. Anything serious happening to her would show up, though, and a mortal hurricane wouldn't destroy her.
I think I'd almost forgotten how solid everything was. And the exact colour of the sky. And the birdsong in the trees outside. And...And if I continue in this vein I will slip even further into mawkish sentiment, so I will leave it there.
Thanks, kid. :) |

| | Bitchy. Damned world. | ] | I didn't expect a virus. Probably I should have.
Lost it by luring it a bit too close to one of the portals leading to White Hot Oblivion that have opened up on the streets. I wonder if the disintegration is due to Kilobyte, the Programmer, or an intruding reality?
Of all things, I'm posing as an aid worker. I'd feel worse about the devastation if it had genuinely occurred. Like a few other events, it's not something I'm interested in remembering. Though one wonders if these people are...well, people.
One sees so many more non-humanoids walking through the main cities these days. Not all of them are deadly. And organic remnants of the more lawless realms are poking their way through what remains of Knight technology, though it's not like the humans aren't fighting back.
A lot of the paper trail has also been lost, though one might remark that not enough bureaucrats made it to the casualty lists. It's similar in the Carnival areas, too: the remnants of the system of government doing a poor job of salvaging what remains.
There was a reason for all of this. I think. Being back here brings back some memories, and probably causes the loss of others. |

| | thoughtful | ] | Rioting in the Circus sector, a mining strike up North, portals to the Datastream splitting open. I doubt Kilobyte intended all this with his little ‘public announcement’.
Throughout mortal history, people have experimented with a great variety of forms of government.
Malevolent dictatorships are apparently not uncommon, though with a tendency to become quickly overthrown, and it is claimed that nothing of the sort could ever arise in today’s human world. Benevolent dictatorships seem near-non-existent, as is quite understandable.
The Americans place great reliance in ‘democracy’, though the flaw with this appears to be that while one receives a vote, others who are perhaps less desirable do not. It appears to be a truism in both worlds that stupid beings form the majority.
A 'constitutional monarchy' seems similar to the above system, but uses people as living symbols with no real power. This is hypocritical, in my opinion.
Something called ‘communism’ was quite popular in the previous century, and is an attractive ideal, but appears to be unworkable in practise.
‘Anarchy’ would be a reasonable description of the current state, considering the disruption caused by the recent revelations and upheavals. This is hardly desirable.
The Sixth Dimension, as it was designed, holds little but an abandoned Thunder Tower and the various sectors of Lord Fear’s domains. No innocent civilians for Knights to protect, here, though no guilty minions either. (Yet. Free to choose cuts both ways.) The basics of a foundation which was an odd combination of bureaucracy and dictatorship was laid, but the powers of the realm are very thoroughly absent.
We have the choice, now, to take what powers we were gifted with and to use that to shape our own destinies, or fall into goosestep behind others.
Change, mortals say, is a fact of life. It’s one I should know by now. And one I should deal with. |

I've been skimming through recent entries. I'm sure any comments I might make would only worsen the...situations.
Kilobyte's gone, hiding in the mortal world without the willing aid of the Programmer, while villains flirt and heroes play. I'm almost certain he's no longer here. This world's changed yet again, chaos spreading through it, some of it probably not Kilobyte's original idea. He spoke of sealing it off, and I'm afraid that meant what I think it means. But there is nothing I can do there.
Leaving me to deal with this world, I suppose. My homeworld.
Anyone have any tips on world domination? |
